Charlene has a specific interest in sharing her artistic approaches with teachers via hands-on artistic activities or a group presentation. She brings her expertise in illustration and art to educators to support their creative effort within their own classrooms. Her insight is supported by research in Design Thinking pedagogy, the Reggio Emilia Approach, as well as interviews with an Art Therapist. She welcomes discussions that link diverse disciplines to concepts in creativity.
Observation and documentation:
Integral to Charlene’s teaching is observation. Without looking at the artwork itself, she observes the participants’ comments, the sounds their tools make, their movements, and emotions; all indicators to each person’s individual creative process.
